Scout Gillett shares pensive new single ‘come on let’s go’
The single is the final cut from her EP 'one to ten', which is out tomorrow
Rising Brooklyn-based artist Scout Gillett has shared her latest single, ‘come on let’s go’, a cover of the 2000 song by Broadcast.
Taken from the English indietronica band’s album ‘The Noise Made By The People’, Gillett’s reflective track features gentle, ghostly vocals against kaleidoscopic instrumentals.
“Stop looking for answers in everyone’s face / Come on, let’s go / What’s the point in wasting time / On people that you’ll never know?” she sings on the contemplative track.

Speaking about the single, Gillett said: ” I was asked to do a cover in tribute to the life and legacy of Trish Keenan. This track in particular really resonated with me since the pandemic was at a peak in NYC.
“It felt as if everyone had the opportunity then to be really genuine and sacred with who they spent their time with. ‘What’s the point in wasting time on people that you’ll never know? Come on, let’s go.”
The single is one of four covers on the singer’s new EP ‘one to ten’, which includes covers of Brenda Lee, Ferrante & Teicher and Blaze Foley.
‘come on let’s go’ follows the release of Gillett’s EP title track, ‘one to ten’. “I wrote ‘one to ten’ a few years ago to my future self, at a time when I longed for true vulnerability,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “It’s a track that encourages us to part ways with resistance and defy the urge to overanalyze – to let go.
“I wish for myself and my loved ones to experience true freedom in life and the beginning of that.”
