From Pride anthems to cinematic dancefloor experiments, the boundary-pushing artist teases a mysterious Betty Boop–inspired project that aims to blend nostalgia with a modern dance-pop aesthetic.

A Jazz-Inspired Dancefloor Sound

“Ring My Bell” singer Inessa Lee is bringing jazz back to the dance floor. Her latest tease on social media hints at a project that could offer a distinct take on pop in 2026: a full-length album that fuses EDM’s heartbeat with the sultry improvisation of jazz, all drenched in the glimmering decadence of Hollywood’s Golden Age.

Collaborating with producers who previously worked on a Eurovision Song Contest-winning act, Lee is crafting something that feels cinematic before you even hear a note. Smoke-filled lounges, vintage silhouettes, and art deco glamour collide with throbbing synths and club-ready beats—like a black-and-white movie that suddenly bursts into color on the dance floor. “It’s classic,” she said. “We’re bringing back the jazz retro glamour onto the dance floors.”

A Nostalgic Influence Reimagined

Hints suggested a tie to Betty Boop, the animated muse who helped define Lee’s early persona on American Idol. But this is no simple callback. It reimagines a familiar icon through a more modern dance-pop lens.

Building on the Success of “Love Gun”

The stakes are high, and the bar is set by her 2025 Pride anthem “Love Gun.” The track also reflected Lee’s broader artistic direction. With a Top 5 peak on the UK Music Week Commercial Pop Club Chart, the anthem highlighted Lee’s international audience and focus on empowerment-driven pop music. “Love Gun” was both a party starter and a clarion call, and it hinted at the ambition behind this next project: pop music as a full-blown experience.

Lee’s upcoming album promises to push that even further. Imagine the improvisational soul of jazz colliding with EDM’s relentless energy, cinematic visuals spilling off the screen, and the thrill of unpredictability at every turn. The album appears to lean into themes of mystery and glamour while emphasizing an immersive listening experience.

A Cinematic Pop Vision

The title is still a secret, but the idea is crystal clear: Inessa Lee is not just making music, she’s building a strong visual and musical identity. And when this album drops, the dancefloor — and the imagination — could see a different style of contemporary dance-pop.
