From World Pride to London’s Mayhem Rave MkX Keeps Pop Nostalgia Alive

With a vibe that recalls the best of late 90s and early 2000s pop and a magnetic energy, singer, songwriter, and artist MkX is gearing up to give it all at the Mayhem Rave at The Clapham Grand in London on October 4.
His latest single, “UP,” already introduced at major events such as Mayhem Rave in New York and various stages promoting inclusion and diversity within the LGBTQI+ community, of which the artist is a proud member, has quickly become a fan favorite.
But music doesn’t limit; it expands, and “UP” is no exception. With echoes of iconic artists from that era like Britney Spears, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, and Janet Jackson, the song evokes not only a time period but also a deep sense of belonging that revolutionized the pop scene 25 years ago.
Proof of the singer’s impact is the fact that it has already amassed millions of streams across digital platforms. MkX describes his new single as a futuristic mix with unique sonic textures: lasers, bubbles, and spaceship sounds. His vision was clear: to revive the spirit of 2001 pop and reimagine it through a 2025 lens.
“UP” was co-written with Myah Marie (Britney Spears, RuPaul, Selena Gomez) and Brandon Colbein (Zayn, Kehlani, Hayley Kiyoko), both of whom worked directly with the very artists who remain a source of inspiration for MkX.
For MkX, 2025 is a pivotal year. After touring various Pride festivals across the U.S., he wrapped up with a headlining show at World Pride in Washington, D.C., where he opened for Doechii in front of more than 30,000 people. Now, he’s bringing that energy to London.
Since his beginnings in the 2010s, MkX has shown both talent and vision. His songs have charted on Billboard, Sirius XM, and iHeart Dunkin’ Latte Lounge. He’s also produced for artists like Kim Petras, TWICE, and Ayesha Erotica.
