James Robert Webb Is Going to Turn You Into a “Weekend Outlaw”
In partnership with Ue3 Promotions

James Robert Webb is as comfortable in scrubs as he is on stage, seamlessly blending the everyday grind of being a musculoskeletal radiologist with the wild, untamed spirit of a musician. By day, he diagnoses injuries, but when the sun sets, he transforms into a storyteller, spinning tales that are as gritty as they are heartfelt.
His music isn’t just a collection of notes; it’s a reflection of a life lived with passion and purpose. His sound combines soulful storytelling with a bold attitude, drawing from a diverse range of influences that feel both classic and forward-thinking. Webb’s mission is clear: he wants to inspire his audience to break free from the monotony of everyday life and pursue their passions, embodying the spirit of a “Weekend Outlaw.”
A Sound with Grit and Groove
The titular track, “Weekend Outlaw,” is like a gulp of fresh air—especially if you crank it up at 6 PM on a Friday as you dash out of work and head to your local pub. The funky-groovy riff carries an off-the-wall RHCP energy, while Webb’s rockabilly vocals bring a dynamic throwback feel. You can imagine he’s brimming with personality and flair.
On the second track, “Gentlemen Start Your Weekends,” Webb leans harder into the country-rock influences that permeate his work. As the title suggests, it could easily have been the first song on the album, yet it does a fantastic job of keeping the energy soaring.

Another standout—one of my personal favourites—is the trope-laden masterpiece “Lovesick Drifting Cowboy.” This outlaw country and blues-rock ballad feels like an ode to timeless classics, evoking a familiar Southern rock spirit.
The album swings from one influence to the next, always feeling cohesive, but the last three tracks in particular elevate the whole experience. Initially, Webb is paying homage to his influences, but with these post-modern country ballads, he reveals a more vulnerable and unorthodox side of his artistry. This shift ties “Weekend Outlaw” together.
Artistry and Evolution
Webb has made quite a name for himself in the music world, earning accolades like Independent Artist of the Year from MusicRow Magazine. He has also received significant airplay on the Texas Regional Radio Report with tracks like “Something Out Of Nothing,” “Stealing Home,” and “Lovesick Drifting Cowboy.” His journey began with his debut album, “Pictures,” in 2016, but it was his self-titled album in 2020 that truly put him on the map.
On the Horizon: Film Projects and More
Looking ahead, Webb is set to appear as himself in the upcoming holiday film “Music City Mistletoe”, where he’ll perform his original song “Fighting for a Dream” alongside another festive tune he co-wrote. With his unique blend of medicine and music, James Robert Webb is proving that you can break the mould and follow your passions in style.
