Western Style, Emmy Gold, and the Next Sheridan Chapter for Danielle Vasinova
In partnership with Key Talent Management

Taylor Sheridan has done it again. With the recent announcement of the nominations for the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards, the prolific showrunner has tacked on four more nods to his already prestigious list of accolades—two for 1923, one for Tulsa King, and one for Lioness.
With these nominations, acclaimed Hollywood star and Native American/Czech actress Danielle Vasinova is once again part of an Emmy Award-recognized television series. This marks an impressive milestone for Vasinova, who featured in a recurring role as the Indigenous character Ata Waipa in 1923.
Production Design and Period Costumes
Known for its sweeping landscapes and stunning set design, it comes as no surprise that 1923 was nominated for Outstanding Production Design. The series—and all of Taylor Sheridan’s series—vividly captures a distinct historical period while also creating a realistic, lived-in environment.
1923 was also honored with a nomination for Outstanding Period Costumes, which is fitting. Sheridan’s shows are acclaimed for the Western-inspired and historically accurate attire the characters wear, and Danielle Vasinova’s Ata Waipa is no exception. Much of the credit can be attributed to stylist Janie Bryant, who frequently collaborates with Sheridan and designed the costumes on other celebrated shows like Mad Men and Deadwood.
The show’s striking aesthetic has even influenced Vasinova’s creative ventures, including her upcoming fashion line, VASINOVA, which draws inspiration from Western lore including the visual storytelling that defined 1923.
The Big Day: The 2025 Emmy Awards
The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards are just around the corner. Set to take place at the renowned Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on September 14, it’s still unclear which members of 1923’s cast and crew will be in attendance—including Taylor Sheridan himself. There’s also some quiet speculation that Danielle Vasinova might make an appearance, though nothing has been confirmed.

The Future of Sheridan’s Yellowstone Universe
As previously mentioned, Taylor Sheridan is a busy man. His creative vision is constantly looking toward the future, and new Yellowstone shows are already in the works with upcoming series 1944 and The Madison. 1944 will once again track the storied history of the Dutton family, though little else is known about the plot or characters at this time.
The Madison, meanwhile, is set to premiere later this year and will star Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams, and Danielle Vasinova. As Kestrel Harris, Vasinova is the only star in The Madison to appear in another Yellowstone series.
This fact adds more mystery to Vasinova’s role in The Madison. Reports indicate that she will portray another Indigenous character, and that her latest character might be tied in some way to Ata Waipa in 1923. But aside from that, viewers are left to wonder what Sheridan has up his sleeve.
For now, fans will have to look toward the Primetime Emmy Awards to see whether Taylor Sheridan can add a few more trophies to his collection.
