‘The Inbetweeners’ confirm third film with original cast – watch the first teaser now
A reunion film for the sitcom legends is now in production at Netflix
The original cast of The Inbetweeners have officially reunited for a third film based on the hugely successful sitcom, with production now underway at Netflix.
Last year, it was revealed that the show was to return, with creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris’ signed a new partnership to revive the show “across a range of platforms including film, TV, and stage”.
Now, it has been revealed that the entire original cast – Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas reprising their respective roles as Will McKenzie, Jay Cartwright, Neil Sutherland and Simon Cooper – will return for the third film, which has begun production.
“It’s been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we’re going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans,” the creators said.
A teaser video has been shared by Netflix now, which sees the cast get into Simon’s legendary yellow car from the original series, complete with a sticker that says “Honk if You Want a Blowjob.”

The show first broadcast on E4 between 2008 and 2010, following the lives of socially awkward sixth-formers as they navigate their late teens.
Two films then followed, including 2011’s The Inbetweeners Movie which followed their first ever lads holiday to Malia, and a 2014 sequel which saw them travelling across Australia.
In November 2018, the cast took part in a special reunion show to mark the show’s 10 year anniversary, but it was panned by fans of the show as it was delivered as more of a clips format than celebrating the show. Buckley even issued a public apology at the time, writing in a post: I’m sorry to anyone who feels let down with last night’s show… I’m especially upset as it really is the fans that made The Inbetweeners a success, it certainly wasn’t me.”
In 2024, Thomas also said the cast were eager to return. “All of us feel it would be nice to do,” he told the Always Be Comedy podcast. “We’re all still around, we’re all still in each other’s lives. We all still like each other. And if it was something that came up, I think we would want to do it.”
