Boardmasters 2025: Central Cee and Nelly Furtado thrill in the sunshine

Boardmasters 2024 saw Stormzy arrive at the Cornish seaside to show why he’s the king of UK rap. On the Saturday night of this year’s festival, Central Cee made his stake for the future crown.
Beginning his set with mega-hit ‘Doja’ was a brilliant statement of intent, and highlights from his global smash of a debut album, Can’t Rush Greatness, followed, in a set which highlighted both his charisma and lyrical flow.
Before the headline set, Nelly Furtado provided a delightful hit of nostalgia, bringing ‘Promiscuous Girl’, ‘Maneater’, ‘I’m Like A Bird’ (featuring special guest Katy B) and more generational anthems to the main stage in front of a stunning sunset.
Nostalgia was also the order of the day for Katy B, whose short and sweet 20 minute set reminded everyone why she remains a darling of UK dance music, and Rizzle Kicks, who returned after nearly a decade away to bring energy, joy and – of course – ‘Down With the Trumpets’.
Elsewhere on Saturday at Boardmasters, Maribou State brought their luxurious dance grooves to the Mordros tent, while the Unleashed stage hosted the best of modern house music from Jazzy and Patrick Topping.
Another highlight of the day’s activities came from Kelli-Leigh, who previewed her new album in a performance on the ZYN stand at the festival. The vocalist, who has worked with Duke Dumont and Jax Jones and performed live with Clean Bandit, previewed euphoric new single ‘Elevate’ as part of a set that had an infectious energy and rhythm.
Boardmasters 2025 concludes today (August 10) with a headline set from The Prodigy alongside performances from Natasha Bedingfield, London Grammar, Wet Leg and more.
