Dua Lipa among artists urging government to ‘end UK complicity’ in Gaza
“You can’t call it ‘intolerable’, yet do nothing. The world is watching and history will not forget”

Dua Lipa, Massive Attack and more are among 300 artists and public figures to call for the UK government to end their “complicity” in Gaza.
The open letter to Keir Starmer, written by refugee charity Choose Love, demands that all UK arms sales to Israel stop, and that a ceasefire is pushed for by the UK.
It reads: “We urge you to take immediate action to end the UK’s complicity in the horrors in Gaza,” later adding: “You can’t call it ‘intolerable’, yet do nothing. The world is watching and history will not forget. The children of Gaza cannot wait another minute. Prime minister, what will you choose? Complicity in war crimes, or the courage to act?”
“Those who survive starvation wake up to bombs falling on them,” the letter says, calling it “violence stamped with UK inaction — flown with parts shipped from British factories to Israel, could be obliterating families in seconds. Each arms shipment makes our country directly complicit in their deaths.”

Dua Lipa has consistently been calling for peace in Gaza since the war began, pushing for a ceasefire in her Rolling Stone cover from early 2024.
“At the moment, what we have to look at is how many lives have been lost in Gaza, and the innocent civilians, and the lives that are just being lost. There are just not enough world leaders that are taking a stand and speaking up about the humanitarian crisis that’s happening, the humanitarian cease-fire that has to happen,” Lipa told Rolling Stone.
