Erykah Badu has announced her only UK date for 2022, and she’ll be headlining the Love Supreme Jazz Festival 2022.

The event takes place in Glynde, East Sussex, and Badu will headline on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Badu won’t perform any other UK dates next year.

The festival will mark the 25th anniversary of her debut album, ‘Baduizm’, and will be the Grammy-winner’s first UK performance in three years.

Ciro Romano, the director of Love Supreme Festival, said: “We couldn’t be happier to be announcing Erykah Badu, a true innovator and undoubtedly one of the most exciting performers of her generation, as the first artist confirmed for Love Supreme 2022.”

Romano added: “We have many more big-name announcements planned over the coming weeks and we look forward to welcoming our Love Supreme family back to the South Downs next summer.”

To buy tickets to see Badu and more, tickets go on general sale at 9am this Friday (October 29).

You can purchase tickets here, Love Supreme Jazz Festival will take place between July 1-3 2022. Tickets start at £63, and tickets retained from 2020 and 2021 will automatically transfer to the new dates.

Like many festivals and events, Love Supreme cancelled the events in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic.

At the last event before Covid closed the world down, Lauryn Hill headlined, and she was joined on the bill by the likes of Gladys Knight and Jamie Cullum.

Neo-soul singer Badu also paid a tribute to George Floyd.

On what would have been his 48th birthday, she said: “Thank you for your spirit and your sacrifice so that we can move on the way that we should, be where we supposed to as a people.”

She has also curated her own Sonos radio station.

Badu said she aimed to take listeners “outta this world and into her sonic orbit” by playing a wide variety of genres.
