Adele has confirmed she is performing at the Brit Awards 2022.

The singer-songwriter announced the news on social media yesterday evening (February 1), writing: Hiya, so I’m really happy to say that I am performing at the Brits next week!!”

Sharing a photo of herself smiling and holding up a hearts playing card, she added that she will appear on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ while in London. “Anddddd I’ll also be popping in to see Graham for a chat on the couch while I’m in town too! I’m looking forward to it!” she wrote.

She also took the opportunity to address recent rumours of a split from boyfriend Rich Paul. “Oh, and Rich sends his love,” she wrote.

The Brit Awards is set to take place on February 22 at London’s O2 arena, where Adele is up for four awards alongside Ed Sheeran, Dave and Little Simz, who will also perform on the night.

KSI and Anne-Marie have also been added to the award show’s lineup, where they will perform along with Liam Gallagher and Holly Humberstone.

News of Adele’s upcoming performance comes shortly after she announced the postponement of her Las Vegas residency, which was set to kick off January 21 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

In a tearful video posted to social media, she said: “Listen, I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready. We’ve tried absolutely everything that we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid.”

She continued: “Half my crew, half my team are down with Covid — they still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show, and I can’t give you what I have right now and I’m gutted.”

Last week the singer called fans to personally apologise for the postponement. In one video on social media, she apologised to fans who had travelled from New York to see her perform. “I’m really sorry for not being there,” she said.

The ‘Weekends With Adele’ residency was scheduled to run until April 16, but new dates are yet to be confirmed.

She later thanked her fans on Twitter: “I have the best fans in the world! Your graciousness and love tonight is overwhelming! Thank you,” she wrote, along with a heart emoji.

The Tottenham singer is scheduled to perform two sold out nights at British Summer Time Hyde Park in London on July 1 and 2 this year.
