Boygenius have announced an intimate London show for August, as well as a slew of UK listening events for next week.

The indie rock supergroup, comprised of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, will play an outstore show for Kingston’s Banquet Records at the London suburb’s PRYZM venue on August 24. The show will be an acoustic set that follows huge gigs in London’s Gunnersbury Park and at Halifax’s Piece Hall the same week, with support at all shows from Ethel Cain. Tickets go on sale for Kingston here at 7pm tonight (March 24). See the band’s full UK tour dates below.

Meanwhile, the trio are lining up a series of listening events around the world next Tuesday (March 28), ahead of the release next Friday (March 31) of their long-awaited debut album, The Record. You can find a full list of participating record stores that will be airing the album in its entirety here, with some set to give away free merchandise to those arriving early.

Four tracks have already been released from The Record; after ‘$20’, ‘Emily I’m Sorry’ and ‘True Blue’ accompanied the announcement of the album back in January, ‘Not Strong Enough’ followed earlier this month. Also this month, the three-piece made a surprise appearance in Austin, Texas, playing acoustically at the city’s airport to welcome travellers arriving in town for the South by Southwest industry showcase.

The Record is the first full-length from Boygenius, following a self-titled EP that was released in 2018. In a Rolling Stone cover story earlier this year, Baker, Bridgers and Dacus discussed the nature of their collaboration, with Bridgers saying: “Lifting each other up [is] how we create. We all get to be the lead. We all get the high of each other being in the front, which is so sick and has been the ethos of this band since day one.”
