Cardi B has criticised world leaders for “tripping about power” over their response to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

This week, Russia has made further advances into Eastern Ukraine, prompting world leaders including UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to impose and threaten sanctions against Vladimir Putin and Moscow.

Asked by a fan on Twitter what she “thinks about this whole Russia thing,” Cardi accused those in power of having the wrong priorities.

She replied: “Wish these world leaders stop tripping about power and really think about [who’s] really getting affected besides the whole world is in a crisis.

“War, sanctions, invasions should be the last thing these leaders should worry about.”

Today (February 22) saw UK Prime Minister freeze the accounts of several Russian banks and leading oligarchs in retaliation to Putin’s actions.

Over 100,000 Russian troops have amassed at the Ukrainian border in recent weeks, but Putin had vehemently denied plans for a potential invasion before yesterday’s advances.

Meanwhile, last month saw Cardi B emerge victorious in a libel case against blogger Tasha K, who she accused of leading a “malicious campaign” of posts in an attempt to taint her reputation.

The blogger – real name Latasha Kebe – stood accused of making “highly offensive” allegations that she cheated on her husband; Migos rapper Offset, had herpes and HPV, worked as a prostitute and used cocaine.

Kebe was found liable for defamation, invasion of privacy and causing emotional distress at the end of a week long trial in New York. She was ordered to pay Cardi $1.25million (£930,000) in general damages and $250k (£185,000) for medical expenses.

Last year also saw her offering to officiate Kal Penn’s wedding after the actor tweeted that he had dreamt about her hosting his ceremony.

The rapper, who last month revealed that she had become an ordained marriage officiant, was unknowingly on the same flight as the actor.

Penn wrote on Twitter : “Cardi B was on my flight to LA. I fell asleep and had a dream that she officiated our wedding on the plane and the three of us walked out of LAX holding hands.”

Cardi B later saw his message and responded: “First, why didn’t you say hi! Second, I’m licensed to do that sooo……..let me know.”
