Kendrick Lamar changes Spotify profile, sending fans into a frenzy
Fans of the rapper believe that his new music is set to be released imminently

Kendrick Lamar has sparked rumours that his album could be released soon, by replacing his profile picture on Spotify for the first time since 2017.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted the change, posting it on social media. Many believe that the rapper is due to release his next album imminently.
One fan listed reasons why Lamar may drop his album soon, writing “November is already stacked for music so if somebody is gonna drop soon then now might be the time… Kendrick dropping tomorrow?”:
Fans have eagerly-anticipated the follow-up to Lamar’s 2017 album, ‘DAMN’, which debuted at number one in the US charts, and at number two in the UK.
In August this year, Lamar revealed that he was working towards his final album with his record label, TDE, which is also home to ScHoolBoy Q, Jay Rock and SZA.
His tweet, posted on August 20, linked to another website with his statement: “I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts. Writing. Listening. And collecting old Beach cruisers. The morning rides keep me on a hill of silence.”
The artist added: “As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.”
In early September, Lamar registered a number of new songs with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), adding fuel to the rumours.
The song titles include: ‘Before The Hangman’s Noose’, ‘Comfortable’, ‘Director’, ‘Fighter Theif In The Night’, ‘Fade To Black’, ‘Erika Kane’, ‘End Of The Line’, ‘Of Paupers And Poets’, ‘Believe’, ‘Driving Down The Darkness’, ‘End Of The Line’ and ‘Fell For You’. His new album will be his first solo project in over four years.
Kendrick Lamar will be headlining this year’s Day N Vegas festival, taking place in November. Lamar is also set to perform at the 2022 Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show at SoFi Stadium on February 13. He’ll perform alongside Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige and Eminem.
