After weeks of sharing ominous teasers on social media, Florence & The Machine have confirmed details of their new album, Everybody Scream.

The band shared the announcement on social media today (August 19), revealing a snap of the album cover and confirming the title and release date. “Florence and the Machine, Everybody Scream, The new album, This Halloween,” the caption read.

The album cover sees singer Florence Welch sitting in a room with wooden walls, wearing a black and a white outfit. The band have also shared pre-order links on their band’s website too, which details the various formats the record will be available in.

The original tracklist of 12 tracks will be available on cassette, CD and vinyl, but there will also be ‘Chamber Versions’ of the latter two formats, containing an alternative cover and four bonus tracks.

Elsewhere, a ‘Bloodwood Edition’ of the cassette features different artwork.

New music from the album and a track-list is yet to emerge, but Welch began teasing the project last month when she shared a carousel of images which included a photo of her at work in the studio with IDLES guitarist Mark Bowen.

She then shared a horror-tinged video earlier this month which saw her frantically digging up the ground in a windy and deserted field. It was followed by a shot of Welch from below as she stares into the hole, before letting out three bloodcurdling screams.

The band last performed in September 2024 when they played debut album Lungs backed by a full orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall to mark its 15th anniversary.

Welch also joined Taylor Swift on stage at the final date of her European Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium last summer to team up on their collaborative track ‘Florida!!!’.

More recently, she joined The Maccabees on stage at Glastonbury in June when they headlined the Park Stage, performing ‘Love You Better’ from the band’s second album Wall of Arms, before hanging around to perform her own hit ‘Dog Days Are Over’.
