Wolf Alice are the cover stars of issue 22 of Rolling Stone UK – go behind the scenes of their cover shoot in our new video below.

The Camden band will release their fourth album The Clearing on August 29 and grace the cover of our latest issue as they kick off an exciting new era.

In the BTS video the group describe the record as “playful, organic and delicious,” while also dishing out some of the most valuable advice they’ve learnt about making successful records.

You can watch the video below, and read Wolf Alice’s Rolling Stone UK cover feature in full here.

In our chat, the group also explained how the learning process from previous records had directly impacted The Clearing.

“I remember getting the stems back from the songs in Blue Weekend and being like, ‘I love this! But I can’t hear it, because there’s so many ideas,’” recalls singer Ellie Rowsell. “So I thought: ‘Next time, you’ve got to make sure all the ideas are the best ones, and if you can’t hear them, you take stuff out.’”

“There’s a power in giving less,” agrees drummer Joel Amey. “Obviously, for lots of bands it’s normal to just sit in a room with guitars and write. But for us, that was new and felt exciting […] It’s like in Get Back, how they’re all just looking at each other’s eyes, trying to work out what’s going on. There’s an intimacy.”
