Sigrid has released a new Christmas version of her 2019 song ‘Home To You’.

‘Home To You (This Christmas)’ puts a festive spin on the original, which was an ode to her hometown and family.

Couldn’t wait ’til I got outside/ Searching for those Christmas lights,” she sings. “But I see the world so different now/ But there’s a place where the snow is all around.”

Speaking about the release, the Norwegian pop singer said: “‘Home To You’ has always had a Christmas spirit since we wrote it. It’s about my hometown and the house I grew up in with my family. I always go back for Christmas, so it felt natural to make a Christmas version. I hope it’ll give some cozy vibes when it’s getting darker outside.”

The original version of the track reached number two in the iTunes UK charts after it soundtracked the 2021 Olympics BBC highlights.

Speaking to NME in August, Sigrid opened up about how her music career has exposed her to the wider world.

“I grew up in a very sheltered home and my world was quite small: it was my hometown of 50,000 people and that was it,” she said.

“But touring and seeing the world gives you a perspective of things and I came to realise how much of my identity is in the world outside of Norway.”

She added: “I sometimes feel a bit torn between feeling at home in Norway but then also feeling at home in all of cities like London, LA, New York and you just get a bit confused… I have to just come to terms with having homes in several places and that is a beautiful thing.”

Last month, Sigrid teased that she was collaborating with Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes and Jordan Fish. “Just wait til you hear what we wrote,” she said on TikTok.

She also shared a clip of her in the studio playing a piano version of Bring Me The Horizon’s 2018 single ‘Mantra’.

Sigrid will als embark on a huge UK, Ireland and European tour next year, including a performance at Wembley Arena.
