Cardi B was filmed throwing her microphone at a fan who had chucked a drink at her on stage last week.

In footage circulated online on Saturday (29 July), the rapper is seen responding angrily to the audience member in question, hurling her mic in the woman’s direction. The tweet embedded below shows that the filmed moment was later retweeted to Cardi B‘s official Twitter account.

It’s the latest incident in a growing trend of fans throwing objects at performers. Last month, Bebe Rexha required stitches above her eye after she was struck in the face by a fan’s mobile phone.

Elsewhere, Drake was hit by a phone while on stage in Chicago during the opening night of his ‘All A Blur Tour’ with 21 Savage. Later in the tour he paused one of his gigs to call out a fan after a vape was thrown at him.

P!nk, meanwhile, was left baffled when a fan tossed their dead mother’s ashes onto the stage in London, while Harry Styles was hit in the eye by an unknown object thrown at him in Vienna.

In June, Ava Max was slapped in the face by someone who ran onto the stage during a show in Los Angeles.

The incident involving Cardi came in the week that she released ‘Jealousy‘ featuring her husband, the soloist and Migos rapper Offset, which is the first single off her forthcoming album.

The rapper’s debut album, Invasion of Privacy, was released in 2018.
