The Cranberries pick up The Icon Award at ZYN Rolling Stone UK Awards 2025 in tribute to Dolores O’Riordan
The band's Noel Hogan will also close out tonight's show with a special one-off performance with Royel Otis
The Cranberries’ Noel Hogan has paid tribute to the band’s late vocalist Dolores O’Riordan while picking up The Icon Award at tonight’s ZYN Rolling Stone UK Awards 2025.
In his speech, Hogan said: “Dolores passed away nearly eight years ago, so it’s testament to the songs that they have lasted so long. When we were kids starting out in Limerick, we never thought our songs would last so long, let alone 37 years. This means a lot to us and Dolores would love something like this tonight and if she’s looking down on us she’ll be smiling. Mike and Ferg [his bandmates] wish they could be here tonight so thanks very much.”
Tonight’s awards will close out with a special one-off performance from Hogan and Australian duo Royel Otis, who went viral recently with their cover of the band’s hit single ‘Linger’.
The ZYN Rolling Stone UK Awards 2025 kicked off earlier tonight with a performance from Myles Smith, who also won The Breakthrough Award. Other award winners so far include Biffy Clyro, Bob Geldof, Wunderhorse, I Swear and Riot Women.
