The Rolling Stones release new album Foreign Tongues tomorrow (July 10) and launched the record at a star-studded event in London on Wednesday.

The central London party saw Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood perform three tracks together, including a debut of unreleased Foreign Tongues track ‘Ringing Hollow’.

Jagger described the song as “a love letter to America,” but its lyrics read as a criticism of Donald Trump’s regime as he sings: “Lady Liberty don’t look so good when there’s a tear in her gown.”

The pair then played Sticky Fingers track ‘Dead Flowers’, before enciting a singalong on the timeless ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’.

Among the star-studded guestlist for the party was Sam Fender, Daniel Craig, tennis legend John McEnroe, Foreign Tongues producer Andrew Watt, TV star Claudia Winkleman and more. The show then ended with a dramatic drone show over the River Thames.

The band said: “We put this album together in under a month at Metropolis Studios in our hometown of London – it was a lot of fun. The critics seem to like it, we hope everyone loves it!”

In terms of future plans, Keith Richards recently said that he’s not sure if the band will tour Foreign Tongues, but that the idea of residencies appeals to him.

“I don’t know if tours are possible,” Richards, 82, told Uncut. “It’s the travelling that takes it out of you. But I do see the possibility of us doing residency somewhere. Wherever it is, London, New York, Paris, anywhere. I’ll play Rome! But I don’t see why they shouldn’t be able to throw some shows together in a new format.”
