The Streets have cancelled all of their tour dates for 2022 due to uncertainties related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Mike Skinner said in a statement that the decision was taken after “the worst week of the worst year of my life.”

“It is with a very heavy heart that i have to say that we have decided to cancel all live performances for 2022,” he said.

“It is not fair to keep taking your money for tickets knowing that with 1 case of covid, the whole thing has to stop. I’m really sorry to disappoint you,” he continued. Support across the tour was due to come from Master Peece and Teef.

The Streets were due to embark on a run of shows in January, beginning with a series of intimate Birmingham gigs that had already been postponed from last Summer after one of Skinner’s team tested positive for COVID-19.

This was set to be followed by a larger headlining set in Skinner’s home city, followed by a series of national shows including two nights at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

The affected tour dates are as follows:

January 2022
10 Birmingham @ The Mill
11 Birmingham @ The Mill
12 Birmingham @ The Mill
13 Birmingham @The Mill
14 Birmingham @ The Mill
21 Birmingham @ O2 Academy
22 Sheffield @ O2 Academy
24 Bristol @ O2 Academy
25 Nottingham @ Rock City
27 London @ O2 Academy Brixton
28 London @ O2 Academy Brixton
29 London @ O2 Academy Brixton
31 Leeds @ O2 Academy

February
01 Glasgow @ O2 Academy
03 Newcastle @ O2 City Hall
04 Manchester @ O2 Victoria Warehouse
05 Liverpool @ University Mountford Hall

It’s unclear whether The Streets’ planned appearance at Kendall Calling will go ahead. They were announced as headliners last month, along with Stereophonics and Supergrass . Rolling Stone UK has reached out to the festival for comment.
