Troye Sivan, Hunter Schafer and Prada’s art of everyday drama

David Lynch famously said, “I’m convinced we all are voyeurs,” and it appears Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons share the sentiment. For Prada’s Autumn/Winter 2026 campaign, the co-creative directors have enlisted Academy Award-winning filmmaker Barry Jenkins to transform the intimacy of domestic life into a cinematic study of identity.

Titled Simple Stories, the campaign stars the brand’s growing A-list family of ambassadors, including Hunter Schafer, Troye Sivan, Damson Idris and Chen Haoyu, navigating the familiarity of being home alone. But, in true Prada fashion, what first appears familiar soon gives way to something far more surreal.

Through moments of drama, performance and personal quirks, the cast disrupts the expected normality of home life, revealing the tension between who we are in private and how we choose to present ourselves when no one else is around.

For Prada, this is heightened by fashion. Everyday silhouettes are disrupted with unexpected details, from a gingham-lined trench coat that reveals embellished bijoux only when opened, to extended French cuffs that exaggerate the relationship between classic tailoring and contemporary expression.

That interplay between the familiar and the unexpected defined the Autumn/Winter 2026 runway collections. The menswear focused on elongated, precise silhouettes, blending formal codes with a modern sense of ease. Elsewhere, the womenswear show transformed layering into a theatrical exercise, featuring just 15 models who returned to the runway multiple times, removing layers with each pass to reveal entirely new looks.

Across both collections and the new campaign, Prada continues to question the boundaries between reality and performance. Through Jenkins’ cinematic lens, the home becomes a stage, the wardrobe becomes a character, and dressing becomes an act of self-discovery.
