Thom Browne just gave ASICS an office-core makeover
Meet the new Gel-Kayano 14, tailored for the boardroom
Is there a designer more committed to uniform dressing than Thom Browne? The three-time CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year has been refining his rigorously precise vision since founding his label in 2001, building an empire on shrunken grey suits, razor-sharp tailoring and collegiate codes.
That uniform traditionally calls for polished Oxfords or stately Derbys. But Browne has never been one to follow convention too closely. Partnering with ASICS, the designer has reimagined the cult-favourite Gel-Kayano 14, transforming a high-performance trainer into something fit for the boardroom.

The silhouette keeps its technical pedigree, but the details tell a more tailored story. An optional catch-lace system arrives threaded with Browne’s signature red, white and blue grosgrain on the black and white iterations, while a tonal grosgrain version punctuates the grey pair.
Bespoke details, like one metal-tipped and finished in red, white and blue; the other two-toned, a subtle wink to the sneaker’s sporting heritage. It’s precision meeting performance, ceremony meeting speed.

The campaign is Browne’s take on office core: chic, minimal and faintly austere. It’s a disciplined visual language that mirrors the precision of the trainer itself with clean lines, monochrome palettes and a sense of restraint.
Bringing that vision into the real world, the collaboration will be celebrated with a pop-up at Selfridges Corner Shop, transforming the retail space into Browne’s own interpretation of the modern workplace. Because in Browne’s world, form follows formality.
