Iron Maiden have hailed their classic track ‘The Trooper’ after it was played in the final ever episode of Stranger Things.

The very final season of the acclaimed Netflix show was broadcast at the end of 2025 and, after being condensed into three volumes, the show’s finale was broadcast on New Years Day (January 1).

The show, which saw the residents of Hawkins uniting to battle Vecna one last time, has already been responsible for allowing David Bowie’s seminal anthem ‘Heroes’ to enjoy a jump of 500 percent on streaming services after the song was used on its closing credits.

Now, it looks like Iron Maiden could be set to experience similar after their music was added to the show’s impressive soundtrack pantheon.

The show toasts the heroics of metalhead Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) in the final episode as Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) delivers a powerful speech at their high school graduation, all while The Trooper is heard to blast out and Dustin reveals a HELLFIRE LIVES! T-shirt underneath his graduation gown.

“Stranger Things HAS happened… and Eddie got his moment!” Maiden said of the moment on social media. “Yet to see the finale? Stream now on @netflix.”

Speaking to Tudum, co-creator Ross Duffer said of the show’s finale: “A lot of it was inspired by Eddie – even at the end where [Dustin] rips the diploma and flips off the principal, which is something that Eddie said he wanted to do. A lot of it is honouring Eddie and what Hellfire had been. A lot of what Hellfire represents and a lot of what Dustin’s talking about is one of the major themes of the show, which is that this is a story about outsiders and outcasts. It’s about banding together and embracing your otherness to defeat the evils of this world.”
