The ‘Jackass’ gang on the one stunt they couldn’t pull off: ‘Lawyers got involved!’
Light-up testicles, anyone?

As Jackass fans await the arrival of the celebrated franchise’s final outing, director Jeff Tremaine and Johnny Knoxville have told Rolling Stone UK about one of the most memorable stunts they were unable to pull off.
Speaking to Rolling Stone UK to promote the release of Jackass: Best and Last, Tremaine revealed how a stunt involving Dave England and, specifically, his testicles, had proved to be the one that got away.
“Dave England only has one testicle, and we wanted to add a testicle that lights up,” explained Tremaine. “And we had it all worked out. We had it [the testicle] designed and everything, but lawyers got involved and we weren’t able to get to it.”
“Every time we get right down to getting ready to do it and the lawyer’s like [makes a cutting neck hand gesture],” added Knoxville.
Asked about the concerns of the lawyers, Knoxville added: “Everyone wants to be indemnified.” “It’s complicated,” added Tremaine.
Jackass: Best and Last hits UK cinemas this Friday (June 26) and is the final outing for the acclaimed MTV group.
“Jackass was born out of whiskey and adrenaline and a bit of ignorance thrown in,” Knoxville told Rolling Stone UK of the group’s near 30-year run. “We’ve had a great deal of luck since then.”
