The romcom, which hits cinemas on Friday, follows lovesick musician Owen (Spike Fearn), who goes ducking and diving through Manchester to find the girl of his dreams – aided by psychology student Emily (Angourie Rice) – after he’s given the wrong number.

Directed by Alicia MacDonald, it’s a fizzy and thoroughly modern story where the comedy is only matched by the needle drops, which play homage to Manchester’s rich musical history.
On Monday, we welcomed winners to London’s Charlotte Street Hotel to see the film, as well as a post-screening Q&A between MacDonald. Rolling Stone UK’s Content Editor, Nick Reilly, and special guest Antony Szmirek – who composed the title track.

It was also a special reunion for MacDonald and Szmirek, who hadn’t seen each other since shooting the vibrant music video which features at the end of the film. A huge thanks to Universal for hosting the screening.
