6 albums you need to hear this week
With music from Sleaford Mods, Westside Cowboy, A$AP Rocky, Madison Beer, Cavetown and Sassy 009
In the age of streaming, it’s never been easier to listen to new music — but with over 60,000 new songs added to Spotify every day, it’s also never been harder to know what to put on. Every week, the team at Rolling Stone UK will run down some of the best new releases that have been added to streaming services.
This week, we’ve highlighted records by Sleaford Mods, Westside Cowboy, A$AP Rocky, Madison Beer, Cavetown and Sassy 009.

Sleaford Mods – The Demise of Planet X
The title of Sleaford Mods’ 13th alum could easily be a reference to our own planet during these most uncertain of times. Thank god, then, we’ve got these unlikeliest of musical heroes to provide us with a bit of spiky salvation. That’s certainly true on the booming ‘Megaton’, while ‘The Good Life’ features guest vocals from Star Wars don Gwendoline Christie. It’s abrasive and unrepentantly in your face, but it also acts as the shouty kick up the arse that we all sorely need.

Westside Cowboy – So Much Country ‘Till We Get There
As we explained last year, Westside Cowboy became the name on everyone’s lips in 2025 due to their self-devised Britainicana – which they describe as a lyrical celebration of the mundane paired against 90s alt-rock guitars. It’s deployed with thrilling results here, whether it’s the slow-burning electricity of Don’t Throw Rocks’ or the brilliant wonkiness of ‘Strange Taxidermy’. A consistently exciting showing from one of Britain’s most thrilling bands.

A$AP Rocky – Don’t Be Dumb
Talk about a thrilling left-turn. The latest from A$AP Rocky album sees him deal in anthemic punk moments (see ‘Punk Rocky’), as well as music videos directed by Danny Elfman and an artwork from Tim Burton, no less. It’s wildly unpredictable, completely unexpected and all the better for it. A record which solidifies Rocky’s place as one of the most exciting rappers in the world today.

Madison Beer – Locket
“After writing the album it feels like each song lives within this metaphorical locket for safe keeping,” Madison Beer says of her new album. “Each album feels like an era and once the albums are out in the world the chapter for me, usually with what I wrote about, is closed.” On Locket specifically, she exorcises demons through playfulness and spontaneity, trusting her first idea and following what feels good.

Cavetown – Running with Scissors
The new album from Cavetown, aka British songwriter Robin Skinner, sees the 26-year-old embracing growing up. On it, he speaks to his younger self and hopes for that person – as well as his legion of fans – to follow him into the future of Cavetown. “I want them to enter this new era with me and not feel like it’s for kids. Because I’m not a kid anymore,” he says. “I want it to feel like we’re moving forward together.”

Sassy 009 – Dreamer+
Dreamer+ is the long-awaited debut album from Oslo-based producer, songwriter and vocalist Sunniva Lindgård, aka Sassy 009. Arriving nearly a decade after her debut EP as a trio with 2017’s Do You Mind, the new record firmly positions Sassy 009 as a brilliantly melodic and inventive electronic project. Inspired by shoegaze, hyperpop and more, it’s a record that draws from all corners of the electronic landscape.
