The Arctic Monkeys have announced a new tour date in Colombia with Father John Misty providing support.

The show will take place on 11 November with tickets set to go on sale next week on 16 June from 9am local time.

The Sheffield band are set to headline Reading and Leeds Festival later this year, their only confirmed UK tour dates for 2022.

Also headlining Reading and Leeds are Dave, Megan Thee Stallion, Bring Me the Horizon, Rage Against the Machine and Halsey.

Other acts set to appear at the festival this August include Wolf Alice, Fontaines DC, Little Simz and Glass Animals.

Their tour will also take them around Europe, North America and Australia.

While the band have yet to confirm a new album, it is expected one will be released before they head off on tour in August.

Drummer Matt Helders previously talked about the new album: “It kinda like picks up where the other one [‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’] left off musically. I mean, it’s never gonna be like ‘R U Mine?’ and all that stuff again, you know, the heavy riffs and stuff. But there are riffs in there and [it’s] a bit more up-tempo, even though it’s not loud. It’s hard to explain!”

The Arctic Monkeys haven’t released any new music since the 2018 release of ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ which saw mixed reviews from fans due to its departure from their traditional rock sound.

Despite the mixed reviews from fans, critics acclaimed the album with it appearing on a number of end of year lists.
