Blur’s Dave Rowntree is set to release a photobook featuring pictures from the earliest days of the Britpop heroes.

No One You Know: Dave Rowntree’s Early Blur Photos will be published by Hero on September 9, 2025, and is edited by journalist and author Miranda Sawyer.

Rowntree says: “The pictures I took are of a band right at the start of their career.  They’re of what we did between the gigs, interviews and photo sessions. They are of us hanging out, relaxing, travelling, eating, and especially in the early days, drinking. They are snapshots of what life in Blur was really like in the first few years when the TV cameras and tape recorders were turned off.

“Obviously there isn’t much of the band actually working, because then I would have been working too. This is everything else.”

The book can be pre-ordered here.

Rowntree released his debut solo album, Radio Songs, in early 2023. He told Rolling Stone UK: “The pandemic happened and all my paying work dried up so I was sat in a studio twiddling my thumbs wondering what I’d do for the next six months. It was the perfect storm really.”

He also played two sold out Wembley Stadium gigs with Blur as part of their latest reunion tour, and continued his work as a local politician.
