Nadine Shah has shared a brand new single called ‘Twenty Things’, which she describes as a “love letter to people met in recovery”.

The singer is releasing new album Filthy Underneath on February 23 next year, and recently shared its first single ‘Topless Mother’.

The singer’s first album since 2020’s Kitchen Sink is now being previewed by a second track, of which Shah said was inspired by her time spent “in recovery” and the people she met there.

“No-one tells you that you’ll end up feeling so deeply for the people you meet there,” she said. “What makes it more intense is the fact that you know, statistically, that not everyone is going to make it once they’ve left the place.”

She added: “Some of the most unspeakable things had happened to these people and equally some of the most heinous things were done by them. You’re supposed to love the sinner and hate the sin. I loved them all.”
