Adele has opened up on how she hopes her new album, and she hopes it will help her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki to their nine-year-old son.

The couple split in 2018, after what Adele has described as an “embarrassing” short marriage, saying it “wasn’t very long.”

Describing the split in her first interview in more than five years, she told Vogue: “My son has had a lot of questions. Really good questions, really innocent questions, that I just don’t have an answer for.”

Adele continued:”I just felt like I wanted to explain to him, through this record, when he’s in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness.

She said she struggles with the impact it has had on their son: “It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to heal”.

There is a track on the album that Adele says is particularly designed to help Angelo in later life: “That one is obviously about stuff that happened, but I wanted to put it on the album to show Angelo what I expect him to treat his partner like, whether it be a woman or a man or whatever.”

A clip of a new single, ‘Easy On Me’ was released earlier this week with a black and white video to accompany it ahead of release on October 15.

As yet, no official release date or title has been given for the new album but imagery of the number 30 appeared on various landmarks around the world.

Fans are convinced this will be the title of the new album, after her previous records were called ’19’, ’21’, and ’25’.
