Beabadoobee reveals new album will feature PinkPantheress collaboration
The singer has also confirmed the release date of ‘Beatopia’ and shared new single 'Talk'
Beabadoobee has shared that she has collaborated on a track with PinkPantheress on new album ‘Beatopia’, also confirming that the record will arrive on July 15.
Speaking with Jack Saunders on BBC Radio 1 about the album’s first single, ‘Talk’, the singer hinted at what to expect from the anticipated follow-up to ‘Fake It Flowers’.
“Well I wrote this album with my guitarist Jacob [Bugden], we were just in this room together, he produced the whole record,” she said, “and there’s some songs where Robbie from Cavetown is singing some backing vocals, and there’s a song with PinkPantheress.”
She continued: “You know it’s a fun little thing. I feel like this whole record is to do with friendships and appreciating the people around you so I wanted to get all my friends involved.”
PinkPantheress will feature on the track ‘Tinkerbell is Overrated’, while the album’s first single, ‘Talk’, was released today (March 23). Listen and watch the accompanying video below.
“I wrote ‘Talk’ just after my first album. I was obsessed with Tuesday because I thought it was the best night to go out, not too much chaos but just enough to have a good time,” she said in a statement.
“Generally, it’s about doing things that aren’t necessarily healthy or great for you but you can’t help indulging. It’s like that unavoidable feeling that you get, you can’t get rid of it and you know it’s bad but you love it really and it’s whatever, so you do it anyway.”
Last month, she shared her first new music of 2022 in the form of ‘Fall In Love With A Girl’, a collaboration with Cavetown.
In a recent interview about the album, Beabadoobee said every song on her new record “is in a whole different world,” adding: “I’ve never made such different songs in one piece of music before.
“It’s the first time where every single song you just can’t compare it to anything else from the record. There’re some songs where it’s just me and some songs where it’s very heavy. We reference a lot of music we were listening to at the time, Jacob and I.”
Beabadoobee has also announced her biggest UK and Ireland headline tour to date in October, kicking off in Dublin and finishing up at London’s 02 Brixton Academy.
