Britney Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, has requested the “immediate termination” of his daughter’s conservatorship.

According to court documents reported by Fox News, “Britney’s recent testimony and requests to take personal control of her estate and affairs have made clear that continuing the Conservatorship is contrary to her desires.”

It added: “Jamie sees no reason why the conservatorship should continue for any amount of time and asserts he has no interest in the conservatorship continuing,” according to his attorney Alex Weingarten.

He continued that “Jamie unconditionally loves and supports his daughter. Full stop. As he has done for her entire life, Jamie will do everything he can to protect and care for her.

“For the last 13 years, that included serving as her conservator. Now, it means ending her conservatorship.”

In June Britney Spears delivered a statement in court about her wish to end the 13-year conservatorship and the harmful impact it was having on her. “This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good. I deserve to have a life. I’ve worked my whole life,” she said.

“I deserve to have the same rights as anybody does by having a child, a family, any of those things, and more so.”

She also revealed that she had an IUD that she said she was not allowed to remove. “I wanted to take the IUD out so I could start trying to have another baby. But this so-called team won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out because they don’t want me to have children – any more.”

The singer made a series of other claims that she was unable to make financial decisions without approval, was made to perform, and put on strong medication against her will.

Jamie Spears was suspended from the conservatorship on September 30.

Last month, Britney Spears posted on Instagram that she wanted “justice”.

“This message is to my family … for hurting me deeper than you’ll ever know !!! I know the conservatorship is about to be over but I still want justice !!,” she wrote.
