Fontaines D.C. tease fifth album and share new clip of ‘Marianne’
A new era beckons...

Fontaines D.C. have teased that their fifth album is on the way, as well as sharing a new clip of upcoming single ‘Marianne’.
The band first premiered ‘Marianne’ during a festival show in Cadiz, Spain, last week, with many noting the slower sound and Massive Attack-esque direction of the new track.
Now, they’ve uploaded an official clip of the song on YouTube, alongside new visuals of the Dublin band. “This year, you should come and stay here. You can follow my lead. I can help you disappear,” sings Grian Chatten in the brief clip.
And it’s clearly the start of a new era for the band. Over on Instagram, they have shared a new press photo, alongside the telling caption ‘5’. The photos see the band in contrasting outfits, with Chatten and bassist Conor Deegan donning crowns, while guitarist Carlos O’Connell wears a pair of devil horns.
Though full details are yet to be announced, it comes two years after the band released Romance, which scooped The Album Award at the Rolling Stone UK Awards.
As well as ‘Marianne’, last week’s shows in Spain saw the band debut ‘Six Shot Morning’.
It marked their first dates since the unexpected death of Trevor Dietz, the band’s long-time manager, in June.
