Florence + The Machine has delivered a brilliant cover of JADE‘s ‘Angel of My Dreams’. You can check it out below.

The Florence Welch-fronted group delivered the cover on BBC Radio 1 yesterday as part of Live Lounge Month, just days after the release of their latest album Everybody Scream last Friday (October 31).

Explaining her decision to tackle the song, Welch said: “I just think it’s one of the best pop songs in a really long time. I think it’s so incredible and innovative, and I love how the structure jumps all over the place.

“It really kind of inspired me to also try lots of different structures and styles throughout my record. So yeah, it was a big influence – especially on ‘Everybody Scream’. That song is like three different songs in one, and kind of so is this. I love it.”

While JADE’s debut solo single was big on strings on drama, Welch’s offering saw her pepper the track with electric guitar.

Welch also previously admitted she had been listening to JADE’s solo single while in the studio for Everybody Scream, explaining that she was “pulling all those things together”.
