Florence + The Machine have shared ‘Everybody Scream’, the title track to their upcoming sixth album, as well as sharing more details about the record.

The album’s title track debuts with an accompanying video, directed by Autumn de Wilde which you can watch in full below.

Florence Welch shared a teaser last month which revealed that IDLES guitarist Mark Bowen had been working on the record, but today she reveals that a close-knit circle of collaborators on the record also includes Bowen – who appears in the video for ‘Everybody Scream’ – alongside Aaron Dessner and Mitski.

According to an official release, the record also explores ideas of “spiritual mysticism, witchcraft and folk horror” after Welch underwent lifesaving surgery on the Dance Fever Tour and examined what it means to be “healed”.

“The album treads through womanhood, partnership, aging and dying; exposing the murky in the mundane,” states an official release.

The record arrives on Halloween (October 31) and its original tracklist of 12 tracks will be available on cassette, CD and vinyl. There will also be ‘Chamber Versions’ of the latter two formats, containing an alternative cover and four bonus tracks. Elsewhere, a ‘Bloodwood Edition’ of the cassette features different artwork.

As well as the aforementioned clip featuring IDLES man Bowen, Welch also shared a horror-tinged video earlier this month which saw her frantically digging up the ground in a windy and deserted field. It was followed by a shot of the singer from below as she stares into the hole, before letting out three bloodcurdling screams.

The band last performed in September 2024 when they played debut album Lungs backed by a full orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall to mark its 15th anniversary.
