It seems like Florence + The Machine are teasing new music after sharing a mysterious new post on social media.

The last album from Florence Welch and co came in 2022’s Dance Fever, but a new carousel of images shared on Instagram suggest that its follow up could arrive sooner rather than later.

One of the cryptic images showed a whiteboard with the message “you can have it all” written on it, alongside the words Clarity, power, purpose, vocals, space, dynamics and beauty”. The words “Swans vs Adele” were also written in capital letters underneath, with some interpreting it as a nod to the singer.

Perhaps most tellingly, another slide showed Welch at work in the studio with IDLES guitarist Mark Bowen, though it’s unclear what role he will take on any purported project.

Other sides include mentions of “witchcraft and folk horror” while another features a photograph of On Mysticism, a 2024 book by Simon Critchley. The first slide also contained the words “October”, with some interpreting it to be a potential release date for the project.

Though a new album is yet to be announced, the band last performed in September 2024 when they performed debut album Lungs backed by a full orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall to mark its fifteenth anniversary .

Welch also joined Taylor Swift on stage at the final date of her European Eras tour at Wembley Stadium last summer to team up on their collaborative track ‘Florida!!!’.

More recently, she joined The Maccabees on stage at Glastonbury last month when they headlined the Park Stage, performing ‘Love You Better’ from the band’s second album Wall of Arms, before hanging around to perform her own ‘Dog Days Are Over’.
