Green Day have announced their latest album ‘Saviors’, while also sharing a new single called ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me’.

The 14th studio album from the punk icons arrives on January 24 and marks their first full-length release since ‘Father Of All Motherf*****s’, which was released in 2020.

Today (October 24), the group – Billie Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool – have also shared a brand new single called ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me’.

The track was first premiered at a series of warm-up gigs last week, before it featured in their headline set at Las Vegas’ When We Were Young festival over the weekend.

The group say that it was one of the last songs to be recorded for the album.

“As soon we cut it, we said, ‘Okay, that’s going first,’” said Armstrong, who hailed the new song as “a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people – in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”

An official video feels suitably festive for the Halloween season too, as the group finds themselves in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.

They also recently announced a US stadium tour with support from The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancis and California newcomers The Linda Lindas. When announcing those shows, the group teased that UK and EU dates are set to be announced at a later date.
