Hard-Fi have announced details of a special reunion gig in London later this year, as well as hinting at plans for new music and a wider tour.

It comes after the Staines outfit first teased their return earlier this month with photos shared on the London Underground.

Speaking to fans on a Facebook Live stream last night (April 25), frontman Richard Archer confirmed that the band will play London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on October 1, 2022. It will mark their first performance since 2014, when they released the greatest hits album ‘Hard-Fi: Best Of 2004-2014’.

“You may have seen the signs around town – 1st of October 2022, we’re getting the band back together,” said Archer. “As if you hadn’t guessed.”

Looking back on his memories of playing the O2 Forum, Archer said: “I’ve seen some amazing gigs there and one of my favourite of our gigs we did there as well. So we’re gonna be going back there.”

The singer continued: “Everyone’s back in – Ross is back, Kai, Steve. They should be here but apparently they’ve got something better to do. Anyway, everyone’s back in, 1st of October, it’s a Saturday night.”

Archer went on to confirm that Hard-Fi will hold a livestream performance on Facebook on Thursday night (April 28).

“Any of you who have tuned in to any of our previous livestream attempts will know they’ve always been a slight, complete balls-up, but generally fairly entertaining hopefully,” he said.

“So next Thursday we’re gonna do a full band from our Cherry Lips studio, livestream it, 9pm.”

“We’re gonna play three or four numbers, maybe. Hopefully we can remember all the chords, hopefully I can remember all the words.”

Hinting at new music, he added: “We might throw in a couple of new tunes while we’re there.” Tickets will be available to purchase here from 10AM on Friday April 29.

Hard-Fi’s first album came in 2005’s Mercury Prize nominated ‘Stars of CCTV’, which hit Number One and featured tracks such as ‘Cash Machine’ and ‘Living For The Weekend’.

Follow-ups came in 2007’s ‘Once Upon A Time In The West’ and 2011’s ‘Killer Sounds’ before they went on hiatus in 2014.
