Harry Styles has announced the diverse and genre-spanning line-up of artists he has assembled for this year’s Meltdown Festival at London’s Southbank Centre.

The solo megastar will play his own show at Royal Festival Hall on June 16, while bringing together a line-up which spans everything from rising indie stars to jazz greats.

On one hand, Styles has enlisted the brilliant chaos of Minehead duo Getdown Services, known for their energetic live shows which usually see the pair performing topless and dishing out face-melting riffs. On the other, the event will also take in two shows from renowned US saxophonist Kamasi Washington. Other artists include venerable Ethiopian jazz star Mulatu Astatke, Maccabees singer Orlando Weeks and an ensemble set from Devonté Hynes.

Pop is also represented with Erika de Casier and Fousheé, while a DJ set comes courtesy of LCD Soundsystem leader James Murphy.

Styles said: “Music is my life; every artist involved in this year’s Meltdown festival means so much to me, both as a fan, and a musician. It’s a true honour to host legends who have paved the way for the generations that follow them, as well as new acts that have inspired me to push my creative boundaries.”

The festival will run from Thursday June 11 until Sunday June 21.

Styles will also head out on a world-tour this summer, which will see him play a record-breaking 12 dates at Wembley Stadium.

Last year’s Meltdown Festival was curated by Little Simz.
