Here’s the early weather forecast for Glastonbury Festival 2022
Here's an early round-up of the expected weather down on Worthy Farm
We’re now just over a week away from the long, long-awaited return to Worthy Farm for Glastonbury 2022. The festival runs from June 22 to June 26 this year, where Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar are set to headline. The likes of Wolf Alice, AJ Tracey, Haim, Lorde and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will also perform on the Pyramid stage.
For a bash that has only existed in our dreams for the past three years, the hopes for good weather has never been greater. With a steady high of 17 degrees currently forecasted across all five days, things might just turn out alright this year. But you should definitely bring the wellies, just in case.
Here’s how the weather is looking for Pilton, Somerset at the moment, according to BBC weather…
Wednesday 22nd, sunny intervals
As you pitch tents, explore the farm and warm up for the weekend, Wednesday is looking like a solid start with sunny intervals and a moderate breeze.
Thursday 23rd, more sunny intervals
So far, so good. As you hit some of the smaller stages, the weather is still on side with more sunny intervals and a low chance of rain.
Friday 24th, still looking good
Get to The Libertines on The Other Stage at 11:30am as the sun starts to creep out to make the most of it, with sunny intervals are forecasted until 6pm. You might need to get the jumpers out for Sam Fender, Foals and Billie Eilish in the evening, as the temperature drops to around 15-14 degrees for their sets. At the moment, the likelihood of rain is less than 20 per cent across the whole day.
Saturday 25th, light cloud and a little breezy
Macca and Megan Thee Stallion pull the short straw for the worst weather of the festival currently forecasted. But fear not, it should still stay dry with a very low chance of rain, with just a bit of wind. The likes of Easy Life, AJ Tracey and Metronomy might just catch a few sunny intervals between 3-6pm.
Sunday 26th, sun’s back!
Rounding things up on a high, Sunday is looking to have some sunny intervals from as early as 9am, hopefully giving the likes of Diana Ross, Fontaines DC and Kojey Radical a little bit of sun time, before things get a chillier in the evening for Lorde and Kendrick Lamar.
Last month Glastonbury announced the full festival line-up and set times for 2022, so you can get planning those schedules and finding clashes.
Currently, rail workers belonging to the RMT (Rail, Maritime and Transport) union are set to stage nationwide walk-outs on 21, 23 and 25 June, following a prolonged dispute over pay, potentially jeopardising travel plans for festival-goers later this month.
National Express coach service said it had seen a “significant increase” in bookings and was “working hard to increase availability where possible,” (via The Guardian). So be prepared for planes, trains and automobiles as well as temperamental weather.
