Hot Chip have announced details of a new album called ‘Freakout/Release’ – listen to its first single, ‘Down’, below.

The band’s new record follows 2019’s ‘A Bath Full of Ecstasy’ and will land on August 17 via Domino. Following the release, the band will play four headline shows at London’s Brixton Academy from September 21-24.

The new album was made at the band’s new London studio, Relax & Enjoy. “By the time we were able to be back together, we were turning on a tap and having a lot of ideas being poured out quite quickly” frontman Alexis Taylor said in a statement.

Bandmate Joe Goddard added that the album came together “in a natural way, without too much discussion or a grand plan.”
