Jamie T made a triumphant return to the stage last night (August 20) with a last-minute intimate show at London’s Scala after releasing comeback track ‘3310’ earlier this week.

Arriving to the stage at 8.30PM for his first gig in two years , he was immediately greeted with welcome and familiar chants of “Jamie, Jamie, Jamie fucking T!”, which continued throughout the 90 minute show.

It was a set that flitted between fan favourites and an exciting taste of his upcoming sixth album Ghosts (100 Days Of Morning). On the latter point, the second song was new track ‘Waist 36” Leg 32″‘, which was anchored by a massive chorus. The only other new song was the aforementioned ‘3310’, which was warmly welcomed by the London crowd.

But for the rest of the set, fans were treated to an array of hits from his whole career, whether that was the mosh-pit starting ‘Rabbit Hole’ from 2014 third album Carry On The Grudge, or the cries of “Ooh Aah!”, which greeted ‘Salvador’ from his debut album.

“That’s what I hear when I go to sleep,” Treays quipped of the chant, while also restarting it at one point after realising he’d been singing the whole lyrics. “I worked it out – it was your fucking fault with the ‘ooh! Aah’!” he grinned.

“This is the venue I first played with the band in 2006,” he also old the crowd. “It’s lovely to see you all back, and it’s lovely to be back.”

An encore, meanwhile, saw him return with ‘3310’ before he picked up an acoustic guitar for ‘Back In The Game’. And as ‘Sheila’ finally took its place, it sparked one of the loudest reactions of the night.

There was also a chance for a spot of indie heritage as he introduced The Maccabees’ Hugo White – a long term friend and collaborator – to play guitar on ‘Sticks N’ Stones’ and ‘Zombie’.

“Have a good night, everyone,” Treays said after that final song. “This has been great. I’ll see you again soon.”

And true to that mantra, he’ll be hitting the road in December for a full UK tour. Get full details of that here.
