Jamie xx announces 10-night residency for new London club night

The celebrated DJ and producer will launch 'The Floor' later this month.

Jamie xx has announced details of a new a 10-night residency at London’s Venue MOT called ‘The Floor’.

Only a week after teaming up with Honey Dijon for ‘Baddy On The Floor’ , the producer, DJ and member of The xx has taken part of that song’s title for the name of his new night – which will see him take over the Bermondsey space on ten different occasions.

He will DJ all the dates from May 16-25, with a different line-up each night that will only be unveiled on the day of the show.

Speaking about the residency, Jamie said: “For years I’ve been dreaming of opening my own club in London, a place that represents my experiences in the best of London’s underground club scene; the intimacy, the community, the curation, the sound… this month, I get to make that dream a reality.

“It’s called The Floor and will be at Venue MOT, London. I’ve teamed up with them to create a totally new space and I’ve invited loads of friends and collaborators to join me on the line up every night. See you on the floor.”

In a new interview with BBC Radio 1 about his latest track last week, Jamie revealed that he is currently finishing the new album and it will be released this year.

In 2022, Jamie xx shared the solo tracks ‘Let’s Do It Again’ and ‘Kill Dem’, and has also helped out with work on his fellow xx members’ solo projects.

Jamie worked alongside Romy on her acclaimed solo album Mid Air, producing the single ‘Enjoy Your Life’ alongside Fred again.. and Stuart Price. That followed his production work on Oliver Sim’s 2022 debut solo album Hideous Bastard.
