The team behind the acclaimed Iceland Airwaves Festival have announced the second edition of their Live From Reykjavík event, which will include performances from John Grant, Daughters of Reykjavík and more.

The hybrid digital and in-person event will return to the Icelandic capital for one night on November 6, following the postponement of this year’s Iceland Airwaves Festival and widespread success of 2020’s Live From Reykjavík event.

Some sixteen shows will take place across Reykjavík’s Iðnó, Gamla Bío, Gaukurinn and Frikirkjan venues, with other acts set to take part including Ásgeir, Laufey, GDRN, Aron Can and BSÍ.

All shows will host a small live audience, as well as being live streamed on NovaTV. You can buy a ticket for the stream here.

Other acts to take part include Gugusar, Hipsumhaps, Inspector Spacetime, Junius Meyvant, Flott and Red Riot.

Last year’s event took in performances from the likes of Of Monsters and Men, Ólafur Arnalds, Ásgeir, Hatari, Júníus Meyvant and Eurovision star Daði Freyr.

Announcing the postponement of the 2021 event back in September, organisers said: “Due to new and ongoing COVID-19 measures imposed by the Icelandic Government, Iceland Airwaves has been postponed to 2022.”

They added: ““In regards to line up for 2022, we hope that most of the bands can join us next year, but news on this will follow shortly, as discussions with each band will be on a case by case basis, contingent on their availability and their needs.

“If you hold a ticket for 2021 and  wish to attend Iceland Airwaves 2022, you do not need to do anything, your ticket for 2021 will still be valid. The same applies if you were kind enough to roll your ticket over from 2020. That is also valid.”

The new dates for the festival will be November 2- 5 2022.
