Metronomy have shared a new single called ‘Things Will Be Fine’ – you can listen to it below.

The hopeful track serves as the second taste of the Joseph Mount-led band’s forthcoming seventh studio album, ‘Small World’, which is set to arrive on February 18 via Because Music.

Per a press release, the group’s latest song sees Mount take an optimistic approach in navigating difficult times.

Its accompanying official video finds Metronomy performing together in a 90s-looking house – complete with garish decor, a Nirvana gig poster, an old school Mac computer and other artefacts from that era.

“It’s a sort of pseudo role-play therapy session in which we all re-visit our teenage selves,” Mount explained of the Juliet Casella and Thibaut Caesar-directed visuals “Everyone ended up more scarred than they did before making it… apart from Michael [Lovett, guitarist] and his f*#king guinea pigs.”

Metronomy’s new offering comes after October’s ‘It’s Good To Be Back’, the lead single from the upcoming ‘Small World’.

Speaking previously about the ‘Metronomy Forever’ follow-up, Mount described the project as “a return to simple pleasures, nature, and an embracing in part of more pared down, songwriterly sonics, all while asking broader existential questions: which feels at least somewhat rooted in the period of time during which it was made – 2020.”

‘Small World’ will also feature the cuts such as ‘Life And Death’, ‘I Lost My Mind’ and ‘Hold Me Tonight’ – see the full tracklist below.

Metronomy will showcase the record on a 12-date UK headline tour this spring. Prior to those gigs, the band are set to play 30 shows across Europe between March and April. Ticket information can be found here along with the full schedule.
