Muse have announced a pair of special fundraising shows in London for this spring – find all the details below.

The Matt Bellamy-fronted trio, who recently shared details of their ninth album ‘Will Of The People’, will take to the stage at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London on May 9 in aid of War Child and the Médecins Sans Frontières’ relief efforts in Ukraine.

On May 10, Muse are set to return to the same venue along with special guests Razorlight to mark the 30th anniversary of The Big Issue.

“We’re honoured to be able to play these shows over two nights for three outstanding organisations,” Muse wrote on social media. “They’re out there delivering vital services time after time for the most vulnerable people in society, both in the UK and abroad.”

The forthcoming events will mark the band’s first live gigs since 2019. Tickets for both nights go on general sale at 9am BST on Wednesday (March 30) – purchase yours here. See the announcement and official concerts poster in the tweet below.

James Kliffen, Head of Fundraising at Médecins Sans Frontières, said: “In half a century of providing emergency aid, the last two years have been by far the most challenging.  We’re responding to conflict and emergencies in countries like Ukraine, Afghanistan and Yemen, getting supplies and medics to where they’re needed most, whilst treating the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing climate change crises around the world.

“In choosing to support us, Muse and their fans are helping support some of the most pressing emergencies of our time, whether those are headline news or the world’s forgotten crises. On behalf of our patients and everyone at MSF, thank you for your support.”

War Child CEO Rob Williams, meanwhile, explained: “There were 10.7 million children in Ukraine on 23rd February, the day before the invasion. At least 4 million of those are now sleeping wherever they can find shelter either in bunkers, in the countryside, in transit or in another country altogether.

“The money raised by Muse will make sure that we can respond quickly to children who need support. We could not do this without their help.”

Matt Bellamy recently described the upcoming ‘Will Of The People’ as Muse’s “best” record yet. Following on from 2018’s ‘Simulation Theory’, the album is due for release on August 26. It’s already been previewed by the tracks ‘Won’t Stand Down’ and ‘Compliance’.

“We’ve always tried to think outside the box,” Bellamy explained in a recent interview with Apple Music 1. “We’ve never been one particular genre.”
