Noel Gallagher has opened up about burying the hatchet with brother Liam for Oasis‘ reunion tour, admitting: “He’s been amazing … it’s great being back in the band with Liam.”
Oasis’ hugely anticipated comeback after 15 years, which was announced last summer, has been met by unanimously positive reviews ever since the Live ‘25 tour kicked off in Cardiff at the start of July. Subsequent dates have seen a joyous homecoming at Heaton Park and a further five dates at Wembley Stadium, alongside shows in Edinburgh and Dublin before they head to North America next weekend.
The brothers had previously maintained frosty relations ever since they split following a backstage fight at Paris’ Rock en Seine Festival, but any animosity had seemingly disappeared when they were seen to hug each other at the end of the first Cardiff show.
Speaking to Darren Bent and Andy Goldstein on TalkSport – where Noel is a frequent contributor – the older Gallagher brother said he had been “completely blown away” by the tour.

“Liam’s smashing it. I’m proud of him,” said Noel. “I couldn’t do the stadium thing like he does it, it’s not in my nature. But I’ve got to say, I kind of look and I think, ‘Good for you mate.’ He’s been amazing.
“It’s great just to be back with Bonehead [Paul Arthurs] and Liam and just be doing it again,” he continued. “I guess when it’s all said and done we will sit and reflect on it, but it’s great being back in the band with Liam, I forgot how funny he was.”
Reflecting on the huge response to their first comeback show in Cardiff, Noel said: “I can’t speak for anyone else, but for me personally, I grossly underestimated what I was getting into. It was kind of after about five minutes, I was like, ‘Alright, can I just go back to the dressing room and start this again?’
“I’ve done stadiums before and all that, but I don’t mind telling you, my legs had turned to jelly after about halfway through the second song. It’s been an amazing thing. Really is an amazing thing. It’s difficult to put into words, actually. Every night is the crowd’s first night, you know what I mean? So every night’s got that kind of same energy to it, but it’s been truly amazing. I’m not usually short for words, but I can’t really articulate it.”
In our five-star review of Oasis’ tour opener, Rolling Stone UK said: “Compared to the build-up, the gig itself is largely drama-free. They play the hits superbly, backed by a band on top form, and look suitably nonplussed while doing it. The brothers take up their old roles — Liam is the rabble rouser, asking fans to do the Poznan dance of his beloved Manchester City during ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’; Noel is his composed sidekick – as if they never left.”
