Pa Salieu has teased his next single ‘Bad’, which will be a collaboration with Manchester rapper Aitch.

Salieu shared a short clip of the two musicians dancing to the track in the studio, along with news that the full single will drop soon. An official release date is yet to be confirmed.

It will mark Salieu’s first release since last month’s ‘Afrikan Rebel’ EP, which saw the Coventry rapper and singer explore his Gambian heritage.

“Growing up in the UK especially having spent my early years in Gambia wasn’t always easy being black and especially not black African with an African accent, but I have always been taught to be proud of who I am and have never shied away from that fact for better or for worse,” he said of the EP.

“I see the word ‘Rebel’ only in the most positive sense. Those figures through history that have fought against the odds to stand up for what they believe in have always intrigued and inspired me.”

‘Bad’ will be Salieu’s second collaborative single of the year, following a collaboration with slowthai on the standalone track ‘Glidin” in June.

It’s the latest step in what continues to be a breakout year for the musician, who was named as the winner of the BBC’s prestigious ‘Sound Of 2021’ poll, less than a year after his debut single ‘Frontline’. His debut mixtape ‘Send Them To Coventry’ was released in November 2020 via Warner Music

Aitch, meanwhile, recently released his latest track ‘Party Round My Place’, which featured Avelino and Toddla T. It’s his third lead track of 2021, following June’s ‘Learning Curve’ and August’s ‘GSD’. He’s currently gearing up for his much-anticipated debut album.
