Killer Mike has confirmed that Run The Jewels have started work on their next album.

The duo – Killer Mike and El-P – last joined forces in June 2020 to release the acclaimed ‘RTJ 4’.

Speaking to Consequence, Mike confirmed that work is now underway on the anticipated fifth record from the pair.

He said: “I say this with a smile and a wink — me and El-P were in the studio together. We may have messed around and started ‘Run The Jewels 5’. So we’ll see what happens.”

While it’s unclear when the album will arrive, Mike added that RTJ fans should expect “some guest appearances” from them in the meantime, alongside solo features.

“I’ve done some solo guest appearances as well. So just look for more music to be coming out, period,” he teased.

Last month saw Killer Mike sign a new publishing deal with Reservoir Media, which will see the firm take a stake in the rapper’s eclectic catalogues.

The deal will see the publisher take a stake in the discography of Run The Jewels as well as any songs from the Atlanta rapper’s solo projects. Reservoir will also work with Mike on his future releases.
