The Snuts have unveiled a new collaborative single with Rachel Chinouriri – you can see the video below.

‘End of the Road’ is the third taste of new music from the West Lothian rabble-rousers since their debut album, ‘W.L.’, went to number one in the UK last April. It follows on from protest song ‘Burn the Empire’ and the similarly politically-charged excoriation of social media, ‘Zuckerpunch’, the latter of which arrived earlier this year.

Now, they’ve revealed that they’ve teamed up with the rising alternative singer Chinouriri for ‘End of the Road’, which Snuts frontman Jack Cochrane has described as “a musical antidote.”

‘End of the Road’ is intended to be…a remedy for heartache,” he said in a press release. “We wanted the track to be direct and truly versify a sense of self forgiveness and redemption.’ He continues, ‘The soothing tones of our friend Rachel Chinouriri, who features heavily in the song, helps inject an almost confessional burst of light throughout.”

The track premiered on Clara Amfo’s BBC Radio 1 show earlier tonight (May 5), and was  produced by Detonate and Coffee at London’s Abbey Road Studios. Chinouriri herself had this to add: “This song came about quite spontaneously, which is sometimes how the best things come about. I really loved it when I first heard it, and when I met the boys the lyrics and melody came to us so naturally. You can hear the difference in mine and Jack’s accents, which I think adds something unique to the song. Glasgow and London truly combine so well here.”

Details on a full-length follow-up to ‘W.L.’ have yet to be revealed, but in the meantime, The Snuts will play a string of summer dates this year – you can see them in full below.
